What Marketing tools will suit your personality?

What Marketing tools will suit your personality?

So you’re shy and you don’t like doing public speaking or videos and you’re wondering how you can promote your business.

This is a common issue for a lot of healthcare professionals who just want to treat clients and don’t want to do the marketing stuff. Well I’m sorry to tell you, if you sit in your cosy room all day and expect patients to come to you then you’re not going to be very busy. If you’re not seeing clients it’s an ideal time to do some marketing. I appreciate people don’t like talking about themselves or promoting their business etc, but you have to do it, otherwise you’re going to be left behind. Finding the social media tools that suit your personality is key to promoting your business. If you don’t promote your business, it will close and you’ll be hungry.

Blog: If you don’t like public speaking and you’re really good at writing about your business then start writing. People will love to hear what you have to say about your business and what you do. Don’t worry about how many people will read it, all it takes is one person and you’ve got a customer. Once you write the blog you can use it over and over again through mailchimp (emails to your database), Facebook, Twitter and many more social media platforms. You could even print it out and hand it to your new clients in a new patient pack.

Photos: A picture speaks a 1000 words!! A photo with a good caption and some clever hash tags on a regular bases can promote your business very easily. At present instagram is the platform for this and it’s very easy to set up. Last week we started our account, we published 5 pictures and two videos and we have over 100 views on our page and 150 followers!! An example of a good picture could be a swollen knee with the following tags #Kneetrouble #acl #GAA #Castlecomer #Tullyallen #Physio #makeanappointment #rehab

Videos: I hated videos at first!! All my friends making fun out of whatever I was promoting and I was super conscious about my lisp when I speak. Now I don’t care!! I don’t care what my friends say or about my lisp, I come across as genuine and I ensure people see the person they are coming to see at my business. The videos at Compass Physio help us build a brand of genuine caring health professionals. So make a start today, keep it under a minute and do an introduction video for you practice on your website or social media page.

Combination: As you can see from this blog we have used a combination of all the above techniques to get our message across. We will also share this media through our mailchimp database (automatically – yes that’s right we don’t even log onto mailchimp) giving us an even greater reach.

So in summary

  • Find the right fit for your personality.
  • Always keep trying to push yourself.
  • The more you do it, the better you’ll get at it.
  • Don’t look for perfection.
  • You don’t need expensive equipment.
